We’ll be playing at Pages Books and Coffee on Friday, January 16. From 8-10!

We had the opportunity to play at Pages again in December.
One of Chris’s incredibly talented students snapped a few photos of us in action.
Thanks, Emily!

gig tonight!
For all three of you who read this blog! We’re playing a two-hour gig tonight at Pages Books and Coffee from 6-8. Nerves and excitement run high! It’s our first time out as The Misguided Professors!
before and after
gaining even footing
Well, the fourth of July weekend is officially over. I was able to get the bathroom painted–though I think I may have seriously become a little loopy in the tiny room with very little ventilation. I remember giggling a lot (I’m not a giggler) and Chris says I had odd responses when he would ask me questions. Anyway, now we await a call from the guy that is coming to do the floor. He is supposed to start today–but we’ve heard that for the past week. The great thing, though, is that the painting is done! I’m sure we’ll have some touch up to do when all is said and done–but the painting is finished! Now, we can move on to finishing up the bookcase. Oh!–and practicing music more and more often! Oh, and figuring out the tile situation in the upstairs bathroom. Oh, and figuring out how to repair the patio door that seems to be suffering from water damage. The list goes on and on!
UPDATE!
The floor guys are here! As I type, tile is being cut and a new subfloor is being installed! Hooray!
progress as promised
Well, we haven’t practiced much in the past three days. This has been due to: lethargy, irritability (with each other), an ill cat . . . . Excuses need to stop–and will. We’re singing together in church on Sunday. Between now and then, we need to practice a lot more–and PAINT! Yep, the walls in the bathroom are smooth and ready for the primer. Hopefully, this three-day weekend will be filled with lots of music and lots of color!
once
So, we’re sitting here listening to the soundtrack from Once. We just finished watching the movie. I’m not sure what to think of the movie itself. The first two-thirds seemed to drag a bit–until the “guy’s” dad brought a pot of tea up to the rehearsing band. That melted my heart! The acting was different–awkward, yet very “real.” Regardless of my impressions of the movie, the music is moving. I can tell Chris is trying to figure out which of their songs we should try to tackle!
lucky / blessed / fortunate
Don’t get me wrong, we work HARD during the school year. I firmly believe we NEED the summer to recuperate, renew relationships, and develop in ways that are not academic. I feel so blessed and lucky to have a summer filled with days that I get to do whatever I want with. This music stuff is so much fun. I always dreamed I’d marry a guitar-playing musician. I got the best!
